A Community for Our Downtown . A Downtown for Our Community

[25 January 2026] Local officials consult experts in response to public criticism over their continuing failure

to locate and return escaped trolls to bridge.

[18 January 2026] 53 trolls remain at large a week after their daring escape from the bridge.

Public encouraged to report any sightings, or signs of troll activity to local officials as concern for their safety mounts.

Eat food. Drink beer. Hunt trolls. Help us make this night and October’s downtown centennial celebration something to remember!

MSCL RECEIVES $15,000 IN GRANT SUPPORT FOR
2026 DOWNTOWN BRIDGE CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION MONTH

Roundhouse Foundation and the Port of Cascade Locks Community Development Fund
Provide Critical Seed Funding Needed to Move Project Ahead

[18 December 2025] This morning’s notice of an award of $10,000 from the Port of Cascade Locks’ Community Development Fund, together with the notice of a $5,000 award last month from the Roundhouse Foundation, brings the total support now available to produce MSCL’s downtown Bridge of the Gods Centennial Celebration Month project to a whopping $15,000!

Together, these awards provide the funding needed to cover the cost of producing all critical project components including the development of its designated celebration visitors center and bridge history exhibit as well as the design, publication and distribution of all promotional materials. The organization will continue its efforts to secure the additional funding needed to produce all planned project components through the end of next summer by submitting a $10,000 grant request to the Ford Foundation later this month, launching an intensive corporate sponsorship solicitation campaign in January, and participating in events like the Waterfall Run, Bridge of the Gods Run and PCT Days to ask for personal donations.

A direct appeal for support will also be made as part of the official project launch at the organization’s February 2nd Thunder Island Brewing Community Night fundraiser. Planning for this much-anticipated event is underway with a formal announcement being published/promoted here and on all major social media platforms no later than January 15th.
